Hong Kong Rugby International Players Association Launch (HKRIPA)

HKRIPA Launch at Super Saturday.

The Hong Kong Rugby International Players Association (HKRIPA) officially launch on 22 September 2108, at King’s Park. The committee of Dave Lewis President, Deano Herewini Chairman, Ruth Mitchell and Rambo LEUNG Vice-presidents, Chris North Secretary and the newly joined (that afternoon) Grant Jamison Treasurer were all present. In a brief speech Dave outline the objectives of HKRIPA, which were to build on the honour and camaraderie of having represented Hong Kong at 15s, 7s and/or the Hong Kong Dragons and share that with other players from all ages.

Also, to keep members up to date with HK rugby so groups can get together wherever the National team may be playing. Additionally, the Association aims to offer help and support to any of the members in whatever form they may need it. Pieter Schats, Chairman of the Board of Directors, then followed up by welcoming the initiative of forming the Association and giving the support of the Union. He particularly recognised the work of the Sectary in this endeavour. In total about 40 former HK Internationals attended the launch and thoroughly enjoyed the beer and the atmosphere.
